There are all sorts of names and images for churches. Lots of them are horticultural in nature. Have you paid attention to what Jesus says about being a part of the vineyard? We are called to fruitful living in Christ. Sitting and soaking up worship is not fruitful service, it strengthens us and empowers us for fruitful service.

We pray, but do we go weary in praying. Do we persevere in our prayer? This woman would not give up. I’m wondering if the parable is not more about faith than it is prayer. Do we believe that God will hear and answer our prayer, maybe it is our faith that keeps us on our knees.
